Facing the Void

Facing the Void
she stood silently
facing the emptiness
looking
not backwards
or beyond
but facing the void
itself
the vast unknown
mysterious
and, for some
terrifying
place.

staring into
absolute
meaninglessness
was strangely
satisfying to one
who had endured
so much suffering.

as she let go
and surrendered
her self
she was
dazzled by
the brilliance
of the light
that lifted
her.

held by grace
she floated
and flew
in peaceful oblivion.

‘what is the void
but fear? she thought.
Blinded by the light
