today i am broken open

today i am a broken man.

all defenses down

And only a soft graciousness

abides.

today i feel temporary.

there is sadness

and a need to weep

for life passing by

silently.

sorrow is such healing

medicine

and the tears we cry

replenish the ocean

of love

that is our nature.

i cannot fight the world

anymore

or change anything

so i simply rest

in brokenness, 

not down

but open.
